The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following softball player and pitcher-of-the-week for March 16 -March 22, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2008-2009 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.

Pitcher - Kelly Sladek, Midland Lutheran
Midland Lutheran pitcher Kelly Sladek is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week. Sladek, a junior from Cordova, Nebraska, posted three wins and a save on the week as the Warriors went 7-1 at the NTC Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. She struck out 32 and walked eight in 22 2/3 innings of work. Over four games she allowed just two earned runs. Midland Lutheran was 10-4 entering the week.

Player- Cara DeStigter, Morningside
Morningside designated hitter Cara DeStigter is the Hauff Mid-America Sports Softball Player-of-the-Week. DeStigter, a senior from Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, hit .591 on the week with a slugging average of 1.364. For the week she was 13-22 at the plate with 14 RBI's. DeStigter added six runs scored and five home runs to her totals on the week. The Mustangs were 12-9 as the week began.
