![]() Mustangs Will Face Northwestern on Monday Morningside College (Iowa) punched its ticket to the semi-finals of the 2009 NAIA Div. II National Basketball Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa with a 72-56 defeat of the Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets.
The Mustangs used a strong end of the first half to jump out to a 39-20 halftime lead and cruised without incident in the second half. Dani Gass and Laura Nelson led the still undefeated Mustangs with 18 points while Autmn Bartel and Brittany Williamson added 14 and 13 points respectively. Katelynn Lamb led the Yellow Jackets with 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting. With the win Morningside sets up a rematch with Northwestern College (Iowa) a rematch of the 2008 national semifinal matchup that the Red Raiders won 93-69 on Monday, March 16 at 6 p.m. Black Hills State ends the season with a 26-8 record. |
