Red Raiders Now 25-8
Northwestern College (Iowa) hit on 9-of-17 three point attempts to cruise past Sterling College (Kan.) 72-55 in the second round of the 2009 NAIA Div. II National Basketball Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.
Becki Kuhlmann and Becca Hurley combined for eight of the three pointers made and combined to score 46 of the 72 points scored by Northwestern. The Red Raiders defense held Sterling to 30 percent shooting from the field and held the Warriors to 16 percent from beyond the arc. Hurley led the Red Raiders with 24 points while Kuhlmann finished with 22 points. Ashley Kraft led Sterling offensively with 20 points. With the victory Northwestern moves on to the round of eight to take on Davenport (Mich.) on Saturday, March 14 at 6 p.m. Sterling ends their season at 27-6. undefined undefined Stats |
