![]() NAIA National Wrestling Championships Defending national champion Lindenwood (Mo.) has won the team title at the 2009 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Wrestling National Championships. With the victory, the Lions win their third consecutive national championship and fifth overall. Lindenwood finishes the tournament with 167 points.
Southern Oregon finishes in second place with 125.5 points. McKendree (Ill.) is third with 123 points. Missouri Valley is in fourth with 109.5 points. Rounding out the top five is Notre Dame (Ohio) with 84 points. Three grapplers successfully defended their 2008 individual titles. Montana State-Northern senior Corey Borges (125 lb.), Lindenwood senior Raymond Stephens (133 lb.) and Lindenwood senior Matt Cauley (174 lb.) each won their Championship Finals matches to retain their titles. Matt Cauley of Lindenwood was named the 2009 NAIA Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Tournament while Lindenwood head coach Joe Parisi was named the 2009 NAIA Wrestling Coach of the Year. Other Awards
