Honors Announced
Honors for the 2009 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Indoor Track and Field Season have been announced.

Concordia's Charista Zehnder was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Indoor Track and Field Women's Athlete-of-the-Year. She scored 27.5 points in the GPAC Championships for the Bulldogs. Sioux Falls' Colin Koth was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Indoor Track and Field Men's Athletes-of-the-Year. He scored 26.5 points in the GPAC Championships for the Cougars.

Nebraska Wesleyan's Jackie Spelts earned the Most Outstanding Performance-of-the-Meet for the Women, while Midland Lutheran's Eric Risinger earned Most Outstanding Performance-of-the-Meet for the Men. Spelts earned the honor for her conference record performance in the 5000 meters. Her time was 17:29.73. Risinger posted a 8.05 clocking in the 60 meter hurdles which set the GPAC record and is the best time in the NAIA this season.

Morningside's Dave Nash and Concordia's Kregg Einspahr have been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Co Women's Coaches-of-the-Year, while Gene Brooks from Sioux Falls earned the Men's Indoor Track and Field Coach-of-the-Year honor.

The top Performances-of-the-Meet and the Coach-of-the-Year honors were voted on by the league coaches. GPAC Athlete-of-the-Year honors went to the highest individual point scorers in the meet. Also, the top eight individuals in each event are considered GPAC All-Conference performers.

The GPAC Indoor Track and Field Championships were held on Saturday, February 21, at the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
