![]() GPAC Weekly Indoor Track and Field Honors The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following men's and women's indoor track & field athletes-of-the-week for January 19 - January 25, 2009. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2008-2009 GPAC players-of-the-week and players and coaches-of-the-year awards program.
Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes-of-the-Week
Field Events Katie Bartels, Doane Doane's Katie Bartels is the field athlete-of-the-week. Bartels, a junior from Elk Creek, Nebraska, placed second in the high jump at the Nebraska Kearney Charlie Foster Invite on Saturday with a jump of 5-06. She tied former Doane athlete Katie Kosmos, who was participating unattached, and placed second based on missed attempts. The measurement ranks her first in the NAIA in the event this season. Track Events Jackie Spelts, Nebraska Wesleyan Nebraska Wesleyan's Jackie Spelts is the track athlete-of-the-week. Spelts, a junior from Burwell, Nebraska, placed first in the mile at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invite with a time of 5:05.51. The time was a new personal best and the third fastest in school history. Field Events Nate Greene, Doane Doane's Nate Greene is the field athlete-of-the-week. Greene, a sophomore from Gering, Nebraska, placed first in the triple jump (47-04.50) and second in the high jump (6-04.75) at the Nebraska Kearney Charlie Foster Invite on Saturday.
