![]() Dordt and Hastings to Advance to NAIA Women's Soccer Tourney Play on November 22 Top seed Dordt remained undefeated against league opponents this season as they defeated second seed Hastings 1-0 to claim the 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women's Postseason Soccer Championship. Lindsay Baker scored for the Lady Defenders in the 66th minute as Dordt improved to 18-1 on the season. Hastings' is now 14-5-1. Today's game was played in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Because Dordt won the regular season title (12-0) and the GPAC is guaranteed two bids to the NAIA Tournament field of 32, both teams will advance to represent the conference in the NAIA National Tournament. The NAIA National Soccer Tournament Opening Round is on Saturday, November 22. Opening round pairings will be announced on Sunday, November 16, by the NAIA National Office. The GPAC is allotted two automatic berths because we have 12 NAIA teams in the conference. Sixteen teams will advance to the final NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship site in Daytona Beach, Florida, at Embry Riddle University December 1-6.
