The semifinal round of the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men's Soccer Tournament was played today in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Hastings, Nebraska. Today's matches were moved from Tuesday because of the inclement weather. Top seed Hastings defeated fifth seed Northwestern 3-1, while on the other side of that bracket three seed Dana defeated second seed Sioux Falls 1-0.
Since top seed Hastings is in the final and has secured an automatic NAIA National Tournament Berth (as regular season champion); Dana will be awarded the league's second automatic berth. The NAIA National Soccer Tournament Opening Round will be on Saturday, November 22. The GPAC is allotted two automatic berths because we have 12 NAIA teams in the conference. Sixteen teams will advance to the final NAIA Men's Soccer National Championship Site in Fresno, California, at Fresno Pacific University.
