GPAC Women's Soccer Tourney
A pair of opening round upsets highlighted the quarterfinal round of the 2008 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women's Soccer Tournament on Tuesday. Fifth seeded Morningside defeated fourth seed Doane on the road 4-3 and sixth seed Dana defeated Midland Lutheran 3-1 in Fremont. Top seeded Dordt and second seed Hastings also posted opening round wins. The Lady Defenders defeated eighth seed Sioux Falls 2-1, while the two seed Broncos eliminated seventh seed Dakota Wesleyan 2-0.

The GPAC Women's Soccer Tournament is a single elimination tournament with the winner advancing, as the league's second representative, to the NAIA National Soccer Tournament Opening Round on Saturday, November 22. Dordt College has secured the first bid for the GPAC as the regular season champion. The GPAC is allotted two automatic berths because we have 12 NAIA teams in the conference. Sixteen teams will advance to the final NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Site in Daytona Beach, Florida, at Embry Riddle University.
