![]() GPAC Women's Soccer Tourney Opens on Election Tuesday For the first time since 2005 the Great Plains Athletic Conference will conduct a Postseason Women's Soccer Tournament. The GPAC suspended the tournament for the 2006 and 2007 seasons because all of the conference teams were in NAIA Region III. This year marks the first year of direct qualification (from conferences) for the NAIA and the regional structure was discontinued.
Eight teams will compete in the single elimination tournament with the winner advancing, as the league's second representative, to the NAIA National Soccer Tournament Opening Round on Saturday, November 22. Dordt College has secured the first bid for the GPAC as the regular season champion. The GPAC is allotted two automatic berths because we have 12 NAIA teams in the conference. Sixteen teams will advance to the final NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Site in Daytona Beach, Florida, at Embry Riddle University.
