The Midland University men's basketball team has announced that the Warriors will face the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in an exhibition game at the Devaney Center on Wednesday, November 7 at 7:00pm.  The game will be the only exhibition game for the Huskers and new head coach, Tim Miles, prior to their home opener four days later versus Southern University.

"Playing in the Devaney Center is every Nebraska kid's dream," said Dr. Ben Sasse, President of Midland University.  "You either play there for a state title or you play there on the court with the Huskers.  This is a moment our guys will cherish."

The Warriors are coming off a school record 19 wins in Coach Todd Eisner's first season at Midland, finishing fourth in the GPAC and reaching the semifinals of the GPAC Postseason Tournament.  Midland returns just one starter from last year's squad in Ben Imig but has a valuable core of veterans in Luke Borst, Jerome Vaughn, Galen Gullie, Jalen Hueser and Avery Langford that played significant roles in 2011-2012.

"We are really excited about the opportunity for our program to be the first game in the Coach Miles' era at the University of Nebraska," said Eisner.  "I know Coach Miles has already created a new level of excitement in Lincoln and we are extremely thankful that he has chosen Midland University to play his program in their only exhibition game.  It will be a fun night for our guys, many who are from the state and have grown up Husker fans."

The Huskers finished their first year in the Big Ten Conference in 2011-2012 with an overall record of 12-18 and 4-14 in league play.

"We are fortunate to have such powerful opportunities for competition in the local area," said Jason Dannelly, Director of Athletic Operations for Midland University.  "We are pleased to be able to provide such rich and unique experiences for student-athletes at Midland."
