Doane College, after a runner-up league finish in 2011, is the preseason GPAC coaches' pick to win the 2012 league title. The Tigers went 29-6 in 2011 and posted a 12-4 conference record. Doane totaled 94 points and six first place votes in the preseason poll.
Midland is picked second with 81 points and two first place votes, while Northwestern is third with 77 points and one first place vote. The other first place votes went to Hastings in the fourth spot and defending league champion Morningside in the fifth place slot (tied with Dordt at 69 points).
The 2012 NAIA National Volleyball Championship is set for November 27 – December 1 at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
The 2012 GPAC volleyball season will consist of 16 conference matches with 11 teams competing for the conference crown. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team in the preseason poll.
