GPAC Golf Duo Claim NAIA Long Drive Contest Titles

Dakota Wesleyan's Dani Bellet and Morningside's Brandon Thompson were the 2012 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Golfers-of-the-Year. The two now share another common honor as the 2012 NAIA Long Drive Contest Winners.

Bellet claimed long drive honors in Greeneville, Tennessee, with a drive of 260 yards.  The senior from Lead, South Dakota, capped her standout career by placing 10th at the NAIA National Championships.  For the week she shot a 300 (+8).

Thompson nailed a drive of 306 yards to win the men's long drive contest in Salem, Oregon.  The freshman from Totland, Ilse of Wight, England, began day two at the NAIA National Championships in third place after an even round of 72 on Tuesday.

Bellet was coached by Adam Anderson and Thompson is coached by Todd Sapp.
